Target’s newest collaboration is with Jason Wu. For those of you who haven’t heard of him, here are a few details. At just 26 years old he was put on the map when Michelle Obama wore his gown for the Inaugural Ball. His label was only two years old at the time. Wu had never even met her, nor did he know that his design was even sent to Mrs. Obama. It was a white, one-shouldered, silk chiffon, floor-length gown with a million Swarovski crystals. As you can imagine, this made Jason Wu an overnight sensation. He’s a favorite among many celebrities as well, including Diane Kruger, Leighton Meester, and January Jones.
He told WWD:
“My collection for Target features clothes and accessories that are easily convertible from day to evening—sophisticated, feminine dresses, mix-and-match separates and playful accessories all with a bit of charm and dressed-up attitude.”
In my opinion, the pieces are very lady-like with fun details and patterns. I already have my eye on a couple pieces that will fit very nicely into my wardrobe. Are you planning on checking out Jason Wu’s collection for Target?
